Broccoli and parmesan

This is quite a random one, considering most people don’t like broccoli all that much. I’m finding myself hankering after it quite alot these days, especially since it came from an empty fridge.

Cut the broccoli into small florets and steam (colander above boiling pan of water, lid wedged over the top) for about 4 or 5 minutes. Drain and plate it. Grate an old knob of parmesan over the top, salting and peppering generously. Serve with creme fraiche or sour cream on the side for a light and libidinous salad. Would go well with crispy bacon, pine nuts or mackerel but I love it as it is.
